Formed in 2015 the Meer Cats are made up of 6 of the finest early jazz specialists in London, playing the music of Duke Ellington's bands of the late 1920s and early 1930s.   Much of what they play is in the famous "Jungle Style" with growling trumpet and trombone, haunting clarinet, swooping saz and African drum rhythms.   However, there is much in their repertoire for the swing dancers.   Come and hear them on Friday 29th April and expect the sounds of the Cotton Club in New York. Their latest CD "Jungle Nights in Harlem" features Ben Cummings (trumpet) Ned Bennett (alto and clarinet), Jeff Williams (trombone), Colin Good (piano), Jerome Davies (bass), Chris Nickolls (drums) and with special guests on selected tracks Nick Ball (drums) and Martin Wheatley (banjo and guitar).

The Harlem Meer Cats play great 1920s and 30s music to a knock-out standard.  We can look forward to a fantastic evening.
